Cordell Memorial Hospital is once again bring their Back to School Bash to the Washita County Activity Center from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on August 5th.
There will be snacks and hot dogs and great information on women’s health, health education, and WIC services. Personal hygiene items will be available experts will be on hand to perform car seat checks. The Surf Bar food truck will be parked outside beginning at 11:00 a.m. For further questions about CMH’s Back to School Bash, you can call the hospital at 580-832-3339.
City of Cordell’s public pool will be open for free swimming from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Beginning at 5 p.m. Cordell’s Chamber of Commerce will host an End of Summer party at Lee Park. Free food will be plentiful with Corn Heritage Village providing hot dogs, The Washita Theater serving up their signature popcorn, 4th & College Church of Christ providing watermelon slices, and plenty of ice cold water from the Cordell Beacon.
The Last Straw will have hand-crafted lemonade for sale.
Fun and games include a crowd favorite- BINGO! from 6 - 7 p.m. The bingo cost will be 50 cents per card. Grab the mic and sing your favorite karaoke song under the pavilion from 5 - 6 p.m. and bring the kids out to ‘touch a truck’ from 6 - 7 p.m. where they can take a close look at a police car, fire truck, garbage truck, and more.
Bring the heat for the main event as Fourth & College Church of Christ will host a Super Soaker Showdown in the park beginning at 6 p.m. This will be water fun as you’ve never seen it with fire trucks spraying water over participants as they stage an epic water gun battle. Bring your water guns, big and small!
With the first day of school on the near horizon, come out and make the most of Summer’s last blast!
