Sweet summertime drawing to a close

Get ready, Cordell, it’s almost that time of year again! On Thursday, August 7th, alarm clocks will be ringing, breakfast cereal will be flying, and parents everywhere will be high-fiving each other as they successfully send their kids back for the first day of school.

Cordell Public Schools are gearing up for another year of learning, laughter, and probably a few “I forgot my locker combination” moments. Whether you’re a tiny Pre-ker with a backpack bigger than you, a junior high student wondering if your schedule makes any sense, or a senior cruising the halls, August 7th is your day!

Cordell’s teachers and staff are ready to welcome students back with open arms (and a fresh supply of dry-erase markers). Expect lots of smiles, some nervous jitters, and the unofficial race for who wears the best first-day outfit.

Parents, we see you. Whether you’re shedding a tear or peeling out of the parking lot with a celebratory coffee, know that the Cordell community is excited to kick off another great year together.

If you’re feeling the school spirit and want to lend a helping hand, the Cordell Elementary PTO would love to have you! From planning fun events to supporting Cordell’s students and staff, there’s always a place for you on the PTO team. Follow the Cordell Elementary PTO Facebook page or message Bailee Weems on Facebook to sign up! Bonus points if you bring snacks.

Here’s to fresh starts, new friends, learning new things, and making memories that’ll last way longer than their supply of pencils.
