John William Laughlin

John William Laughlin, 62, of Cordell, Oklahoma, passed away on September 8, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born to James Leonard and Donivee Jean (Cornelius) Laughlin on January 20, 1962, in Lawton, Oklahoma. His family moved to Cordell when John was in 8th grade, and he graduated from Cordell High School in 1980. After graduation, he went into the oil field, then started working for his father at Jim’s Meat Market. John met the love of his life, Sheila, while he was working at the meat market. He worked at the EZ Shop across the street for a short time, and then John went into the oil field for a few years. He worked at a tire shop for a short time in Hinton, before it closed down. John started working for Growers AG for 12 to 15 years. Later in life, John was a truck driver for New Park, hauling water. Then went to work for Lone Tree hauling oil rigs. He was an avid OU fan, loved car races, especially NASCAR, wrestling, and golfing. John will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Sheila, of the home, daughter Janiece Rizzi and husband Michael, Yukon, OK, stepdaughter Lisa Gregory and husband Jason, Rocky, OK, grandchildren Emma and Grace Rizzi, Yukon, OK, sister Traci Williams and husband Steve, Cordell, OK, and numerous nieces and nephews He is preceded in death by Parents: James and Donivee (Cornelius) Laughlin, Brother: Richard Laughlin, and both grandparents.
