F.Y.I

What a wonderful wheat season we had this year! The harvest started the first of June and ended three weeks later.

A farmer is a person who starts out with nothing, loses out on everything he plants, and still comes out even at the end of the year. No one can figure out how he does it. He makes do with what he has and makes plans for next year. Thanks to the farmer. Heaven help the farmer and heaven help the people who don’t have the farmer to depend upon.

The Chamber did it again on ‘Twisters Day’ downtown last Saturday. What a fun evening! I didn’t win at Bingo and the movie was so much like living in Cordell, Ok. We have had our share of tornados in the past years. When we went in to the movie it was 90 degrees and when we came out, it was a downpour and thunderstorm. (Only in Oklahoma!) The movie was so well attended that they had a second showing!

Well done, Chamber! ‘Twisters Day!’ What fun.

The theater set a record for weekend attendance at 626 people.

The next event will be the Washita County Free Fair in August!
