Dear Editor, Let me start by saying my wife Sue Fletcher is one of the nicest people I have ever met, after 36 years of marriage I’ve seen why she was voted Most Friendly her senior year . And I know I married up . Thanks to all those who reminded me of that on the campaign trail !! We are both from small towns in western Oklahoma and we chose to raise our families in a small town .
Where we still know our neighbors and when someone’s in need everyone steps up to lend a hand . But when my wife decided after 21 years working for the county to run for the opening in her office she knew how politics could be . But I can’t believe how small town ethics go out the window when it comes to politics . Signs stepped on or stolen , rumors that are not true spreading like a grass fire in western Oklahoma . I know we weren’t taught this growing up at home, at school, or on Sunday morning . I’ve never been one to vote for the politician that runs down their opponent instead of saying what they can do for us . Bullying will never win in the end because good always outweighs the evil . After the election we will still be friends and neighbors ! I LOVE MY WIFE and it’s my job as a husband is to protect my wife and family but seeing how bad it hurts her to lose a couple of friends over this and I can’t do anything about it is the worse feeling ! Without friends and family we would be lost . So I hope we can remember what our parents taught us growing up that friendship is worth more than gold !!
Before it’s too late . Thank for letting me vent and do my job as a husband !!
