Dill Work and Play OHCE holds May meeting

The Dill Work and Play OHCE met May 21, 2024, in the Dill City Community Center. Jane Shull called the meeting to at 1:30pm.

Anna Prickett led the group saying the pledge to the US Flag and singing My Blue Heaven. Roll was answered by 5 members and 2 guest, with Name one thing you do to relieve pain.

Emma Bingham furnished the minutes from April and they were approved. And the #Thought of the Day#, #Fellowship#, the importance of spending time with friends, OHCE Week and how important it is to have companionship with friends.

Anna gave a Treasurer Report. Wilma Gathright gave a Point from the Parliamentarian.

The County newsletter discussion was led by Jane. There will be a Craft Show in Chickasha, OK, November 15 and 16 at the Grady Fairground.

A 4-H report was given by Lowayne Piercey: Speech Contest was held with a several entries, and the Cupcake Wars were held today in the Washita Co. Activity Center, Cordell, and 4-H camp will be held May 28-30 at Quarta Mountain State Park. Many 4-H activities and planned this summer.

A report was given on the Tooth Fairy Project, Anna, Jane and Lowayne helped present pillows to Washita County Kindergarten Children April 25 and 30. All County OHCE Clubs helped make and deliver the pillows to Burns Flat/Dill City, Cordell, Canute and Sentinel.

A report was given on the OHCE District Leaders Lesson held in Mangum May 14. Lessons were presented for July: Savory Pies, September: Mediterranean Diet instead of Meds, October: Emergency Preparedness.

A craft of tea cup and saucer bird feeders were made by participants. Lunch was a choice of one or all of the 8 Savory Pies made by the different groups. They were all actually good.

A report was given on OHCE Week: Sunday: Church-60th year birthday party-Monday: Send Cardsvisit community personssend letters- Tuesday: Dill Work and Play meeting- OHCE District Leaders Lesson Meeting-Field Trip to Hobart-Mangum-Community Functions-School Sportsgive water to Burns Flat and Dill City Fire Departments-Wednesday: Read a book, magazine or religious bookletsThursday: Community activities-take food to someone-Friday: Attend Graduations- Dill Work and Play gave a scholarship of $50 to a graduate of 2024-Bake-and-Take to friends and community people-Saturday: Baby Shower-Graduations- Birthday Parties-Farm Bureau Committee Project-Field Trip OKC National Memorial, Oklahoma History Center, Governor’s Mansion and Overholser Mansion.

Jane and Lowayne gave the lesson Safe Medication Practices for Better Health.

Cultural Arts: Anita Clayton showed a new necklace from her husband, and Wilma showed a necklace which represented her 4 children which is many years old.

Next meeting is Do your own thing and we decided to eat out at Freds in Elk City. The meeting was dismissed with the Lord’s Prayer led by Jane.
