One of the special things our Chamber of Commerce is having at the Pumpkin Festival is the OBI Blood Mobile blood drive. They will be set up on the North side of the Pocket Park. (Save a Life! Give blood if you can.)
The last time I talked to Sarah Lau, she told me that she had 110 vendors coming to this year’s Pumpkin Festival on October 14th. There will be something for everyone around the square!
The Chamber and The Cordell Beacon are sponsoring a fall decorating contest for the homes and businesses in Cordell. There will be cash prizes awarded for the best Fall decorated home and business. The judging will take place on October 13th. Wouldn’t it be great for everyone to be a part of this?
A special thanks to the citizen’s of our wonderful community and to the Police Department for working together to repair the damage done over the weekend. I will never understand vandalism to the schools, cars and other people’s property. We live in a great town and it takes everyone working together to keep it that way.
At the Special City Council meeting it was approved to proceed with landscape plans on the Downtown Beautification Project.
The City of Cordell will participate in the Washita County Hazard Mitigation Plan.
No action was taken on any of the items listed in the Executive Session for the Special Meeting. Those items and other business will be tabled for later.
Have a great week and start decorating for fall!
There are two weeks to go before the Pumpkin Festival.
Welcome FALL!
