The Washita County Speech Contest was held last week, and 5 members of the BFDC Sr. 4-H club participated. Braxton Barnett placed first with his digital presentation on soybeans.
Brance Barnett had a digital presentation on Water Conservation placing 1st and Champion.
Heather Raliegh did a presentation on Everything About Horses placing 1st in her category.
Evie Denny demonstrated how to make heart pillows. She received the blue award.
Abby Sirmon did a demonstration on making brownies, placing 1st with presentation.
Brance Barnett, a member of the Burns Flat-Dill City Sr. 4-H club, was selected to be a member of the Oklahoma State 4-H Ambassador program.
As an Ambassador he is responsible for keeping relations and meeting the donors who make the Oklahoma 4-H program possible.
This is a very prestigious position and the whole club would like to congratulate him on achieving this ambassadorship.
Brance Barnett was selected in the top 10 Hall of Fame record book and will interview in Stillwater next month and Kathryn Sirmon got selected as an alternate for her dog project record book.
Our club leader, Larissa Mason, has been nominated for the Lifetime State Volunteer award for 10+ years of work, and we would like to congratulate her on this opportunity to highlight her service to 4-H.
Brance also attended the Innovate STEM Summit and is now trained to teach workshops on a variety of topics and projects.
It is also time to sign up for roundup, the deadline is May 16 and every 4-H member in 7th grade and up is able to attend.
