The Cordell Chamber of Commerce would like to express their gratitude to the community for coming out to the Easter Egg Hunt a few weeks ago. With over 2,500 eggs, the event was a huge success, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the generous donations from those who contributed eggs for the children.
The Chamber of Commerce is now preparing for the next big event, the town-wide sidewalk and garage sale, which will take place on June 10th. To get your address on the list that will be distributed throughout the town, please contact the Chamber office at 580-832-3538. The cost to participate is only $10, and the last day to sign up is June 8th.
In addition to the sidewalk and garage sale, the Chamber of Commerce is also working hard on the 36th annual Cordell Pumpkin Festival, which will be held on October 14th this year. If you want to be a part of the parade, be a vendor, or simply want to participate in this exciting event, please contact the Chamber office at 580-832-3538.
The Chamber of Commerce is also gearing up for Bingo Nights at the Washita County Fair. If you are a business interested in donating a prize or two, please contact the Chamber office and they will arrange to pick up your donation. For businesses interested in joining the Cordell Chamber of Commerce, now is the time to sign up. The Chamber is growing rapidly and would love for more businesses to be a part of this amazing organization.
The Cordell Chamber of Commerce would also like to welcome two new employees to the Washita Theater. Judy and Angel are a great help to the theater, and with their assistance, the theater has some exciting events coming up. The City of Cordell owns the building for the theater, but the Cordell Chamber of Commerce runs it.
In May, the theater will be hosting a few western Oklahoma schools to watch Minions: Rise of Gru. If your school or your children’s school would like to be a part of this event, please contact the Cordell Chamber of Commerce for more information.
In addition to the school event, the Washita Theater will also be showing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 on May 4th, and at the end of May, they will be opening the new Little Mermaid movie. Lastly, if you are in the mood for some popcorn but don’t want to see the movie that is playing, when the theater is open, and you can still come by and grab a snack from them before heading home.
