Burns Flat-Dill City 4-H Club Report

BF-DC Sr. 4-H club’s first meeting of the 2022 2023 year was held Thursday, September 29th. We elected officers and had a workshop presented to us. We have a full officer team of eight 4-H members for this year. Our President is Kathryn Sirmon, Vice President- Evie Denny, Secretary- Heather Raleigh, Reporter- Brance Barnett, Photographer- Joey Mooney, Game Leader- Jamee Prater, Song Leader Paislee Tate, and the Chaplin/Encourager is Jonah Fite. We also had Brance Barnett teach us a workshop on leather feathers and some science. Brance’s community service project for this year is teaching workshops to kids about these leather feathers, they get to paint two feathers and take one home and possibly enter it in the county fair, the other one that Brance keeps will eventually be put in an art display right here in Oklahoma for suicide awareness. The Bean Supper is coming! Please put it on your calendars for Monday, November 14. You can prepurchase your tickets from any Burns Flat-Dill City Sr, 4-H member. The meal is from 5-7 pm. There will be a carry out option again this year. Tickets are only $5 for beans and baked potatoes and all the trimmings. Ticket holders will be voting on their favorite t-shirt design that will be printed for our official county 4-H t-shirts for 2022-23. Each 4-H member in the county is encouraged to enter the t-shirt design contest. The Fall Festival Carnival will be in the ag barn. This is always a fun time of great activities for kids of all ages. The Bean Supper and Carnival is the largest fundraiser for the Washita County 4-H and it also benefits each club in the county.
