A Celebration of Life service in honor of Bill Keith Stowers will be held on Saturday, May 21 at 10:00 a.m. at the Martin-Dugger Funeral Home, 600 West Country Club Boulevard, Elk City, OK. The service will be officiated by the Reverend Jeff McDowell with musical accompaniment by Chance Vignal.
Bill was born on March 17, 1948 in Sentinel, Oklahoma. He is the son of the late Aubrey E. Stowers, MD and Mary Carolyn (Van Gorder) Stowers. He passed away at his residence in Elk City, Oklahoma on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 and is now home with his heavenly father.
Bill graduated from Sentinel High School and attended Oklahoma State University before pursuing a career in the oilfield as a “log-man”. His work in the oilfield has taken him all over the world working pri marily on off shore rigs.
Bill was well known for his friendly nature and easy going mannerism. He was a master ‘fixer” of all things broken, and loved spending time in his workshop. Bill never met a stranger and was a great conversationalist with everyone he encountered. He will be loved and missed by all.
Cherishing his memory is his son Eli K. Stowers of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two brothers, Dan of Hendersonville, North Carolina and Dick of Checotah, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his brother Major Gene Stowers a USAF F-4 fighter pilot who was killed in action in Vietnam in 1968.
