Kolby Dowell is candidate for County Assessor

Kolby Dowell, a graduate of Cordell High School and Southwestern Oklahoma State University filed for the position of Washita County Assessor during the recent candidate filing period. Kolby has worked as an Assistant Manager at Sonic Drive-In in Cordell since 2020. His education and work experience have aided in the development of skills which he feels would be useful in the County Assessor’s office including employee management, communication, problem solving, strong mathematical skills, leadership, and working in team settings.

Dowell stated, “I believe I could bring a strong work ethic and team mentality to the office along with a focus on accurate property records, customer service, and working with and for the taxpayers.”

Kolby and his wife, Bailey, along with their daughter, Layla, live in Cordell where Bailey works as an X-ray technician at Cordell Memorial Hospital. He is the son of Marcus and Kristen Dowell, sonin- law of Lance and Carly McCuistion, and grandson of Stan and Edie Brown.

“Representing the citizens of Washita County would be an honor that I would not take for granted. I understand the importance of making decisions that are in the best interest of the taxpayers and would work with my team everyday to do that”, said Dowell.
