Cordell High School is rolling out the red carpet for one of the most anticipated nights of the year, Prom 2026, set for April 18 in the high school cafeteria. With excitement building, students prepare for a stylish, traditional evening full of unforgettable memories.
The night begins with the ever-popular Promenade at 6:00 p.m., where students will make their grand entrance in front of the high school. Before the spotlight moment, participants should arrive early; check-in opens at 5:00 p.m. in the junior high office. There, students will get the all-important green light on dress code, pick up their official announcement cards from Mrs. Love, Mrs. Campbell, or Mrs. Rogers, and tag their car keys for smooth parking later in the evening.
At 6:00 p.m., it’s showtime. Students will cruise along the designated promenade route down 2nd Street and around the cafeteria before stopping for their big moment. Couples will step out in style. Gentlemen, this is your cue to open the door, leave their tagged keys behind, and hand off their announcement cards before being introduced to the crowd.
Not arriving by car? No problem. Students who aren’t driving will still check in at the junior high office, then head to the west-side kitchen doors of the cafeteria to turn in their cards and keys before joining the festivities.
And because Oklahoma weather likes to keep things interesting, a rainy-day backup plan is ready to go. If needed, promenade will move to the elementary school, where students will check in, line up in the auditorium, take a guided walk for introductions, then snap photos and catch a bus to the cafeteria to continue the night.
A quick reminder: if someone else is picking up your vehicle or delivering one for after prom, those arrangements must be handled at arrival, keys tagged, turned in, and accounted for.
Family and friends are invited to come cheer on students during the promenade and share in the excitement. Just be sure to park in designated guest parking areas.
With every detail in place, Cordell High School’s 2026 Prom is shaping up to be a night to remember, full of Blue Devil tradition and a little bit of sparkle.
