Big things are happening on the greens for Cordell golf.
The Cordell High School girls golf team continues its dominant run, capturing the Class 2A Regional Championship and advancing to the State Tournament, set for May 4–5 in Muskogee. The Lady Blue Devils, currently ranked No. 1 in Class 2A, not only claimed the regional title but did so in record-setting fashion, marking the first time in program history that a Cordell girls team has won a regional championship or qualified for state as a team.
Leading the charge was MacKinlee Brunker, who earned the title of Regional Individual Champion. She was joined by Mylee Brunker, who finished third, and Birdie Brown, who secured fourth place.
On the boys’ side, more milestones are being reached. The Cordell boys golf team has qualified for the Class 2A Regional Tournament for the first time in program history. They will compete on April 27 in Clinton with a chance to advance to the State Tournament.
With both programs breaking new ground, it’s shaping up to be a historic season for Cordell golf.
