The Cordell High School gym was electric Friday night as the Blue Devils hosted the Hollis Tigers for the 2025 Blue Devil Basketball Homecoming, and the girls delivered a night to remember in a heart-pounding finish that had fans on their feet until the final buzzer.
In a true seat-gripping battle, the Lady Blue Devils came up clutch, securing a thrilling 56–53 Homecoming victory over Hollis. The game was tight from start to finish, with momentum swinging back and forth, but Cordell showed poise and determination when it mattered most.
Freshman Riley Larsen (#22) shone under the Homecoming lights and was named Player of the Game after an outstanding performance. Larsen posted an impressive double-double, finishing with 16 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and four steals, making her known on both ends of the court.
Senior Calliy Walker led all scorers with 17 points, 9 rebounds, and six assists.
Inside the paint, Emma Holman dominated the boards with 12 rebounds while adding 10 points.
McKinley Moore chipped in seven points, five rebounds, and one assist, while Tralynn White contributed six points, four rebounds, one assist, and one steal. White also represented the sophomore class as a Homecoming candidate, making the night even more special.
The Lady Blue Devils’ balanced scoring, relentless defense, and composure while securing a Homecoming win that the Cordell crowd won’t soon forget.
The Blue Devil boys took the floor, fired up and ready to compete, bringing big game energy from the opening tip. Every player battled relentlessly, diving for loose balls, pushing the tempo, and continuing to fight until the final buzzer. Despite their effort, the Hollis Tigers proved to be a tough and physical opponent on the night, pulling away with a 77–42 final.
While the scoreboard didn’t reflect the Blue Devils’ hard work, the team never backed down, showing resilience and teamwork in front of the Homecoming crowd. Their hustle and commitment to competing the entire game embodied what it means to be a Blue Devil.
The night concluded with cheers and applause as Jacie McCown and Jacob Vela were crowned 2025 Blue Devil Homecoming Queen and King, putting the perfect finishing touch on an unforgettable Homecoming evening. See page five for Homecoming pictures.
