Cordell’s ‘Hello Summer Kickoff Event’ set for May 19th

Families across the community are invited to gather for an evening of fun, food, and celebration at the upcoming Hello Summer Kickoff Event on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Lee Park. The event will take place from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. and is open to all ages.

Designed as a way to celebrate the end of the school year and welcome the start of summer, the event promises a variety of activities for children and families to enjoy together. Attendees can look forward to jump houses, face painting, and a community water fight in partnership with the Cordell Fire Department.

Several local organizations are coming together to help make the evening special. Dinner will be provided by Cordell Nursing and Rehab, drinks will be served by 4th and College Church of Christ, and United Supermarket will be offering free popsicles to help guests cool off. The Washita Theater will also be on hand with free popcorn for attendees.

In addition to the activities and refreshments, there will be a free raffle for school-age children, adding an extra layer of excitement to the evening.

Organizers encourage families to bring lawn chairs and settle in for a relaxed and enjoyable time at the park.

“This event is all about bringing our community together,” executive director of the Cordell Chamber, Sarah Lau says. “As we wrap up another school year, we want everyone to come out, have fun, and kick off a safe and happy summer.”

Community members are encouraged to follow the event’s Facebook page for updates and any additional activities that may be added leading up to the event.

The Hello Summer Kickoff Event is free to attend and welcomes everyone to come out and enjoy a festive evening in Cordell.
