Cordell Easter Egg Hunt set for April 4th at Lee Park

Families from across the area are invited to bring their baskets and join in the fun at Cordell’s annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4, at Lee Park. The free community event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is hosted by the Cordell Chamber of Commerce.

The long-standing event has been a favorite community tradition for many years and continues to draw families from Cordell and surrounding communities. Organizers say more than 2,000 eggs will be hidden for children to collect throughout the day.

To help make the hunt enjoyable for all ages, egg hunts will be divided into several age groups including 0–1, 2–3, 4–5, 6–7, 8–9, and 10–11. New this year, the event will also feature a handicap-accessible hunt area for children of all ages under 11.

Specific times and locations for each age group will be announced closer to the event. Families are encouraged to check the Cordell Chamber of Commerce website or Facebook page for updates.

In addition to the egg hunts, several other activities will be available throughout the day. The Easter Bunny will be on site from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., giving families the opportunity to take photos. A sidewalk chalk contest will also take place during the event, with the Easter Bunny helping judge the artwork. Participation in the contest is free, and those interested can stop by the Chamber table at the park to get set up.

Leading up to the event, adults can also take part in a new activity this year, the Golden Egg Hunt around town. Clues and locations will be posted on the Cordell Chamber of Commerce Facebook page, encouraging participants to visit local businesses to search for the Golden Egg and win prizes provided by those businesses.

The event will also include vendors offering a variety of items for spring shopping, along with one or two food trucks available for those wanting lunch or snacks during the festivities. Vendors are still being accepted for the event.

“This event is a great free opportunity for families in Cordell to bring their kids out and enjoy something fun together right here in town,” said Sarah Lau, Executive Director of the Cordell Chamber of Commerce.
