Weekly BF-DC 4H Report: 2021 Bean Supper recap

Monday was the 40th annual Bean Supper and Carnival in Cordell. The Bean Supper is the biggest county fundraiser right behind the donor drive.

The funds are used to help members attend conferences and camps and provide awards at county competitions.

This year was a huge success with so many supporters attending that we ran out of potatoes. We fed over 500 people!

Brance had his award winning display set up and explained different types of leather to everyone who ventured by and had questions.

Teia Lund also had a display. Brance Barnett introduced Summer Prince, a fellow state council member from Garber, to as many people as he could. Summer chose Washita County to visit as part of her state duties.

Everyone who bought a ticket was asked to vote for their favorite t-shirt design that 4-H members had submitted.

Brance Barnett was named the Sr. winner and Jamie Prator was named the Intermediate winner.

We enjoyed serving food to the supporters.

Mrs. Mason was in charge of the carnival and making sure every game had someone to run it and making sure everyone had a job.

Each of the BF-DC Sr. 4-H members were in charge of the corn hole game, the dino dig and running the prize booth, which is where kids took all the tickets they won and exchanged them for toys and candy.

BF-DC Jr. 4-H members were in charge or the cake walk.

There were lots of carnival games for kids to enjoy.

This was our most successful Bean Supper in the 40 years history. I can’t wait to make the 2022 Bean Supper even better.
