The South Western Oklahoma Development Authority has received grant funding from the Oklahoma Opioid Abatement Board. The Board, part of the Attorney General’s Office, wants the funds to be used to decrease the impact of the current Opioid Crisis. SWODA hopes to increase resources and services that save lives and decrease or prevent illicit Opioid use.
SWODA is proud to announce a significant partnership with the Rocky Sr Nutrition Site. They allowed SWODA to set up an informational table with lock boxes and at home disposal kits that were distributed to their seniors during lunchtime. It is crucial that everyone locks up any medications to keep them out of the hands of children and others in the home. If you have any unused or expired medications at home, we recommend getting an at home disposal kit that can be used to safely deactivate the medicine, or we also recommend taking those medications to your local sheriff’s office.
We want to thank the Rocky Sr Nutrition Site for allowing SWODA to distribute these important resources to their seniors. They are truly making a difference.
