The beginning of the year, any year usually starts us with thinking of those things we want to be better at doing than we were last year. Some call them New Year’s resolutions, others will call them New Year goals-in both, we want to do better, be better.
The best place to start is with how you feel physically and emotionally and there are many things you can do to help both.
First we always hear to get moving but we don’t have to get moving a mile the first day or a marathon in a year. Just start by walking a hallway at work or at home try to walk in every room of your house 2-3 times per day. It is always a good habit if you sit during your day to get up at least every two hours and move. Pace yourself and use the time to move your body and release your mind. Starting this now by the time we have consistent warmer temperatures you’ll be ready to walk outside. Advance how you feel not hurting or setting yourself up to not be successful in feeling better about yourself.
When it comes to being emotionally healthy that can be simply clearing your mind with prayer, meditation or writing. We are to disconnect our minds from what can overwhelm us during our day. Each of those mentioned are not hours or pages, they can simply be 15 minutes of time that you are placing your mind out of the chaos.
These are things that don’t require money or a group they just require you to take the time to take of yourself.
For your health and wellness,
