Cordell Family Clinic would like to introduce, Bob R. Abernathy, DO. Dr. Abernathy grew up in Tipton Oklahoma.
He graduated from SWOSU in Weatherford with a Bachelor of Science degree. After graduating, he attended med school at OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa. He started his practice in Cordell in the summer of 1989!
He and his wife Jolyna of 32 years have three children. Carissa is a pharmaceutical representative for Merck. She lives in Edmond with her husband Chad and two children. Bobby is an ER physician in Tulsa. He lives there with his wife Meghin and two children. Kent is an OBGYN Physician in Tulsa. He lives there with his wife Courtney and three children.
Dr. Abernathy and his wife Phyllis live in Weatherford!
Dr. Abernathy is Chief of Staff at Cordell Memorial Hospital. He is also the ER Director and Lab/Rad Director.
He served on the Cordell School Board for fifteen years. He is the Team Physician for the Cordell Blue Devils and has been since 1989.
His dream job was to be a smalltown country doctor since he was a child. He hopes to practice in Cordell as long as the Good Lord allows!
