Cordell Memorial Hospital

A Message from Melinda Laird, CEO/CNO

We have scheduled two sessions in September to help answer questions, help with completing the enrollment for Medicare and help to manage your Medicare plan. These will be held on September 9 at 11:00 am at the Cordell United Methodist Church and 6:00 pm at Cordell Memorial Hospital. We are partnering with SWODA to help you have the correct information for receiving Medicare.

I want to encourage all Medicare participants to attend. This is a time of change in healthcare and Medicare with all the advantage programs is a large part of change in the healthcare world. Medicaid is another part of change in the healthcare world and as information becomes clearer we will also be offering information sessions for our communities to help us all understand.

WIC is a program that has not been cut from the federal program and will be continuing at the Women’s Clinic. There are there on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 9am to Noon and 1pm until 4p. Please share this with those who will benefit and come to visit our Women’s Clinic.

We are partnering with Oklahoma Foundation for Medical Quality (OFMQ) and the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma (RFBO) to provide medically tailored meals to those individuals with diabetes and/or any cardiovascular disease such as high blood pressure and/or congestive heart failure. This program is for 9 months, and the goal is to improve or maintain the health of any individual living with these medical conditions. Both conditions have high incidence in Oklahoma and impact on the overall health in Oklahoma. We are committed to helping improve the health in western Oklahoma. If you are interested, please contact your medical provider.

Healthcare is changing but our commitment to you, our community has not changed, we will take care of you. You are a part of us, and we are a part of you. The past few years our commitment has been to provide services to you that help you not to have to drive, identify the resources to get you to a higher level of care if needed and most importantly be always here for you. That will not change for us. I will continue to provide you with the information about services we offer and I ask you to contact me with any questions, suggestions or concerns.

For your health and wellness,
