April showers bring May flowers and a little bit of pollen. Please remember to sneeze away from others and to take care of yourself.
There are several things happening in the healthcare world to make you aware and observe your health. The measles outbreak has come to Oklahoma and come to western Oklahoma. Please be aware of the Oklahoma State Health Department guidelines that we follow for your protection. Do not come to the hospital or the clinic. We ask that you call, we can arrange for testing and instruct in treating any fever.
We are excited for things coming in April!! The first is that WIC will now be a part of our Women’s Clinic. This service will be starting on Tuesday, April 22, 9am to Noon and 1pm until 4p.. This will be every second and fourth Tuesday of the month. WIC has been away from Cordell for many years, and we are very happy to have it return to Cordell. This is a result of our working relationship with the Kiowa County Health Department, and we are excited to be working with them.
More information will be coming for our annual Health Fair on Friday April 25 and at the Community Unity Day at the Washita County Activity Center on Saturday April 26. We will have more information about it both on our Facebook page and in the coming weeks.
April is Physical Wellness Month, National Cancer Control Month and National Stress Awareness Month. Get your body moving and eat healthy will help in meeting your Health Observance for April.
I hope you have enjoyed our highlight of staff and departments at CMH on our Facebook page. We celebrate all our employees and want you too also. We are one team caring for you!!!
For your health and wellness,
Melinda
