Cordell Memorial Hospital

A Message from Melinda Laird, CEO/CNO

Our first Back to School Bash was held last week on August 1st at the Washita County Activity Center. It was a great success with many students and families coming and benefiting from the services at the bash. There were families that were new to Cordell and happy to share and see what is available here for them. This will grow each year and we look forward to more for you and your family. I want to thank so many for their help in making this a success, the CMH team, Health Department, SWOSU, OBI, SWODA, introducing the CAC (Children’s Advocacy Center), and everyone with Western Oklahoma Wellness. Last week we also celebrated Janice Williams. Janice has been a part of CMH Board for more than 30 years and her impact will be felt for many years to come. She has been the chair of our board and has been through the good and no so good times at CMH. She will be missed but not for long as she will be joining the CMH Foundation Board.

Kristi Regier steps in the chair position and Greg Chandler joins our board filling Janice’s position.

The health observances for August include things that help us get through our day, our life, Happiness Happens Day is August 8, be smilestarter, give kudos and make a list of the things that make you happy. National Relaxation day is August 15, discover laid-back activities, help someone else relax and make a relaxation schedule,,,,,,, sounds like fun. We are still in the heat of summer and summer sun safety is first—avoid dehydration, shield your eyes and protect your skin.

As school is starting the usual things for this time of year include: Immunization Month; Children’s Eye Health and Safety Month; National Wellness Month.

Please watch for updates on our Facebook and our website. Anything we can do to help you or services you would like to see please contact us a 580-832-3339.

For your health and wellness,

Melinda
