A Special Meeting of the Washita County Commissioners was held on January 31, 2023 with Chairman Goeringer calling the meeting to order.
Chairman Goeringer asked Kristen Dowell, County Clerk, for roll call. Roll call was answered by Gossen, present; Goeringer, present; Chandler, present.
Motion made by Chandler seconded by Gossen to enter into executive session at 9:13 a.m. for the purpose of confidential communications between a public body and its attorney concerning a claim, or action if the public body, with the advice of its attorney, determines that disclosure will seriously impair the ability of the public body to process the claim or conduct litigation, or proceeding in the public interest pursuant to 25 O.S. §307(B) (4) – Seven Cowboy Wind Project. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.
The Board returned to open session at 9:33 a.m.
Kristen Dowell, County Clerk, announced the minutes kept during the executive session are sealed and will be filed in the County Clerk’s Office. No action was taken.
The Board discussed and negotiated with representatives from Enel (Seven Cowboy Wind Project) a lump sum payment amount to be paid to the County for the damages to the roads throughout the construction of the project. Motion made by Chandler seconded by Goeringer to accept a lump sum payment of $1,422,000 for the damaged roads in District 2 and District 3 and to release Enel from the previous agreement to repair roads upon the receipt of payment and release paperwork provided by the District Attorney’s Office. Gossen, yes; Goeringer, yes; Chandler, yes.
