A School Board meeting is upon us, Wednesday, June 26th. I hope there is a good turnout. We need everyone’s help to convince Mr. Victory and the veteran board members (the ones who voted to retain Victory) that “THEIR AGENDA” is not acceptable.
School is out and everyone is enjoying their summer, but we need everyone that is not satisfied with the direction the school is going to continue to speak out. It seems there is a problem with favoritism to the board members’ children. There needs to be more questions asked. But, as I was told by a board member, “They don’t have to answer our questions!” Really?
Has an entire grade school class been required to retake a test because a board member’s child received a low score? Is this done often or just to accommodate certain children?
Has the Superintendent personally investigated a grade school incident because a board member complained to him? Apparently, the board members’ child was in track. The child decided they did not want to run, so he walked the distance, causing the remainder of the class to run additional laps. One of the school children bumped into him, knocking him down, so the board member complained.
Is this done often, or just to accommodate board members?
Apparently one of the board members (upon the hiring of Victory) said Victory was hired to drain the swamp. We have had many excellent teachers leave that were born and raised in the Cordell School District. Many teachers have made Cordell and Washita County their home for years. We have several generations of teachers and students who invested years of hard work in this school system.
The Superintendent and “Veteran Board Members” have no clue what the incumbents’ defeats were about, and they don’t care. They were soundly defeated, 80% to 20% and 70% to 30%, by the voters and taxpayers of the school district. The defeats were a strong response to the direction Victory and the board members are taking the Cordell School. If Victory and the board members are not willing to listen to the voters and taxpayers of the district, it is time to finish draining the swamp that we started at the last school board election.
If the board members and Victory don’t care about the opinions of the majority of voters and taxpayers, how can anyone feel assured they can depend on the board members to take care of them if they have any business connections with Victory or the board members?
