Has everyone noticed how beautiful the downtown area looks? The red steps on the courthouse look great and the trees are blooming that were planted last year around the square. Also, in case you haven’t noticed, the water fountain in the pocket park is working and has been rebuilt even better than years before. If you haven’t been to the Washita Theatre and seen “Twisters” this weekend is the last chance. The movie will show on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. Don’t missed this movie that was filmed in Oklahoma. Congratulations to Nocona Cook for being named Today’s Agriculturists Under 40 by The Sirloin Club of Oklahoma! And also to Jim Davis for being awarded Cattleman of the Year by Oklahoma Cattleman’s Association. Way to go! Attend the movie this weekend and start planning your exhibits for the Washita County Free Fair which will be held from August 21-24 at the Washita Activity Center in Cordell. It is kinda hard to believe that it is the first of August already. We have had a great summer, and now looking forward to a nice fall!
