F.Y.I

Hi to all you wonderful people that live in our area. I’m back!

What a great article last week written by our Beacon Editor. There are a lot of people who agree with her. The way that I hope everyone feels is the School Board and the administration must be doing something right. Kids in Pre-K through 12th grade will get free lunch and breakfast this school year. What a blessing to know that no student will go hungry.

Cordell Schools will also provide supplies to all students between Pre-K and 6th grade. This means families will have a little extra money for back-to-school items needed. We all need to work together for our school!

Also remember to shop local in Cordell with our friends and neighbors.

Come downtown and join the fun of “Twisters Day.” The movie was filmed in Oklahoma!

Opening day at our theater is July 20th and fun begins at 2 p.m. Bingo will start at 4 p.m. and the movie starts at 7 p.m.

The Western Oklahoma Weather storm chasers will be downtown talking to everyone about storms and showing off their equipment.

This past week we said goodbye to four of Cordell’s outstanding women: Nelle Cox, Virginia Walker, Kathy Regier, and Glenda Goodson.

These women helped make Cordell the great town it is today. Rest in peace. You will be missed.

When you are out just driving around, go out east of town and look at the new headquarters of CK Energy. It makes our town proud!

Oh yes! A little late, but congratulations to the Cordell Band for getting to go and play at the Grand Ole Opry. Way to GO!
