The Dill Work and Play OHCE met to start sewing pillowcases for Foster Children on November 11 and 12 from 9 to 3 each day. Representatives from all Washita County OHCE groups met and finished 57 pillowcases and they will be given to Foster Children in the near future.
The Dill Work and Play OHCE held their regular meeting during the sewing workshop. Jane Shull called the meeting to order at 1:30 in the OSU Office.
Emma Bingham called roll with Did you enjoy making pillows? Emma Bingham gave the Thought of the Day, The World Kindness Day is November 13, 2024. Kindness is showing yourself as a friendly and generous person, good for anyone you show kindness, and your overall good health. Each member plan to do something kind and good to someone.
Anna Prickett gave a treasures report, and led Flag Salute.
Jane reviewed the OHCE County letter: Washita County will have a Tea Party December 3 and it will be a day long party with many crafts and programs of fun. (cost $15 by Dec 3). The County 4-H Clubs will be giving some County Veterans Christmas hygiene supply packs and ask if anyone wishes to help bring personal items to the OSU Office or local 4-H members by December 5.
The Samaritan Box for children project was discussed and boxes were handed in and members will finish filling and deliver boxes by November 22. Collection week is November 18 thru 25. We will have at least 7 boxes and hope for more, reports will be given at the next meeting. Lowayne Piercey made the motion that the postage fee of $10 be paid by Dill Work and Play, Wilma Gathright 2nd and the motion passed.
The program for today was the sewing of Pillows for Foster Children. We had 5 members and 2 guest help with the project.
Lowayne gave the 4-H report that the 4-H teen presented workshop, will be held December 7 at the County Community Center.
Cultural Art was shown by Anna Prickett, a Turquoise Stone set in a Silver Indian Feather. It is over 42 years old.
The December meeting will be December 10 at 11AM in the home of Jane Pricket. It will be a Christmas Party and meeting. Each member will bring a snack and an exchange gift around $15. We plan fun, visit, and share ideas. The meeting will dismiss and travel the OSU Office for the County Council at 2:00PM.
The meeting was dismissed with the Lords Prayer and 5 members Jane Shull, Anna Prickett, Wilma Gathright, Emma Bierman, Lowayne Piercey, and 2 guest Anita Clayton and Sue Huddleson were present. Cookies and tea were enjoyed and members continued making pillowcases.
