This week's Cordell Blue Devil Student Spotlight is senior, Danny Schmidt. Danny is very active with sports and FFA. His talents and interests also shine through Esports. Read more about Danny and what he enjoys most about school.
Can you tell us a little about yourself? I'm a welder. I work at Western Welding for my Uncle. I like working and hanging out with my friends whenever I can. I love hanging out with my girlfriend, Morgan. I love to play baseball and this year I am playing golf. I'm pretty excited!
What is your favorite subject in school and why? Economics. I've learned a lot this year and the most interesting was learning about the stock market.
What is something memorable you have done/experienced from this school year so far? Building a feed trough for the FFA Labor Auction. I was excited for how much it brought.
What has been your favorite part of school and why? Esports. My friend and I have qualified for State for playing the game Rocket League.
Are you in any sports, clubs, or other extracurricular activities? I am in multiple extracurricular activities. I play baseball, golf and Esports. I am also in an art class and FFA. These classes and sports make high school very fun.
Is there anything upcoming that you are looking forward to? Baseball, golf and graduation.

What is it that motivates you to try to do well in class? To be passing to play sports.
What do you do when you're not in school? I love welding and working on my pickup. I play video games and I love to ride my four wheeler. I love to go bowling and many other things.
What are your plans looking like for after you graduate? What type of career do you want to try and pursue? I want to pursue welding and fabrication for my uncle after high school.
