Burns Flat-Dill City 4H Club Weekly Report

Greetings from New Mexico! At the time of this article, I am in New Mexico with my fellow Burns Flat Dill City Sr. 4-H member, Kathryn Sirmon. We have spent the last few days at the inaugural Senior Leadership Retreat in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

We have met so many new friends and had great adventures. My favorite was taking a tour of the University of New Mexico’s communication and journalism department.

Kathryn most enjoyed getting to meet the New Mexico 4-H members and learning all the things that they do differently from us.

We took a train to Santa Fe and enjoyed a meal at Tommasitas. Some of the highlights so far on this trip include: we took a cable car to the top of Sandia peak.

The best part of the cable car trip was getting to watch the sunset at the top of the mountain. We participated in a community service project making dog toys that benefitted local Albuquerque Animal Shelters.

The workshops and presentations have been very informative. The lessons learned will be a great asset to the BF-DC Sr. 4-H Club and Washita County 4-H when we implement them.

Please contact Larissa Mason to learn more about our presentations for your group or how you can help the BF-DC Sr. 4-H Club.
