Saturday December 10 th was an exciting time at the Washita County activity center in Cordell. The 4-H event of that day was the annual Washita County 4-H Jr. Roundup. There a variety of workshops available to the event attendees, most of whom were cloverbuds and Jr. 4-H members. There were 8 different workshop stations and 8 different projects for the attendees to make. One of the projects that everyone did was a Christmas tree ornament for the Cordell nursing home. We were not able to go sing like we have been able to in the past, unfortunately. There were 2 different Washita County clubs leading workshops this year and 16 workshop leaders. The Sr. 4-H members that were leading workshops from the BF-DC club were Paislee Tate, Brance Barnett, Chrystal Kovacs, Evie Denny, Kathryn Sirmon, and Heather Raliegh. The workshop leaders from the Cordell Sr. club were Delainee Moore, Jacob Bachelder, Everett Huntzinger, Korben Gossen, Aubrey Sturgeon, and Francesca Bloomer. The Jr. members that helped were Braxton Barnett, Cambree Moore, Denton Cook, Abby Sirmon, and Brett Sturgeon. Everyone that attended said they had a blast, so, it was a success in my book. Following this event in the morning, the Washita County Sr. 4-H members in attendance delivered the ornaments to the Cordell nursing home and returned to the activity center for a Christmas party. We enjoyed ourselves with a caramel apple bar, pizza, and a game of dirty Santa.
