Cordell Boys Cage The Minco Bulldogs 73-70

The Cordell boys basketball team gave two of their best performances of the year in a loss to Fort Cobb and a clutch win over Minco. With the polar vortex affecting the weather outside, the Cordell Blue Devils had to deal with a
blizzard of threes in the loss to Fort Cobb.

Tyler Beasley Named All-State Honorable Mention

After a strong year that saw the Cordell Blue Devils qualify for the postseason, Cordell quarterback Tyler Beasley has been named an All-State Honorable Mention at quarterback by the Daily Oklahoman and the Tulsa World. Beasley keyed the Blue Devil’s offense all year, leading the team both in rushing and passing.

Cordell Wrestling Starts Season Strong

Wrestling is underway for the Cordell Blue Devils, with a young core of wrestlers beginning the season strong. The Junior High squad started the action December 6 and 7 at Kingfisher with several strong performances. Gage Madison was the top performer, earning first place at 132 pounds. Other high finishers included Ethan Newman (3rd at 175), Dawson Corbin (6th at 89) and Clay Elizondo (5th at 132).

Basketball Contest Begins

Opportunities to win great prizes - and bragging rights - begin in this issue with the first Basketball Contest of the season. As football winds down, basketball has kicked into high gear, with high school, college and professional teams playing multiple games each week. Valuable prizes can be won each week, with the entry deadline at noon every Friday. Cordell Lady Blue Devils Put Four More In Win Column

“Fast start” doesn’t really capture how the Cordell Lady Blue Devils have begun their 2013-2014 season. With a record currently standing at 5 and 0, including another championship at the Burns Flat-Dill City Tournament, the Lady Blue Devils will head into the Christmas break after playing Frederick (last night) and Seiling (December 20).
