In a night of emotional highs and lows, the Cordell High School Blue Devil team added another win on Thursday, October 15, taking their record to 7 and 1 with a convincing 32 to 17 victory over Apache.

CHS Blue Devils Play Tough, Defeat Mangum 34 - 21

“We played like champions and gave effort like we had been working toward all season,” said Cordell Head Football Coach Dustin Beasley as he spoke about the 34 to 21 Blue Devil victory over Mangum on Friday, October 9, 2015. “That was the kind of game we had been looking for,” he continued. “The team let loose and played, hard, and do their job every play until the whistle blew.”

The First Annual Furry

The First Annual Furry 5K race to benefit the Cordell Animal Shelter Project (CASP) was a huge success. Over 50 participants registered to walk, jog and run the race. The race was held in conjunction with the Cordell Pumpkin Festival. Pictured above are the female winners, first place was Berkley Price; second place, Kylee Isbell; and third place was Taylor Javorsky.

Corn Bible Academy Football Team Perseveres To Victory

Despite having only nine players, the Corn Bible Academy junior high football team recently defeated Geary by a score of 12-0. CBA scored early in the game and sealed the win after Brendan Miller of Thomas returned an interception for a touchdown.

CBA Wins Regionals

On Thursday, October 1, 2015, CBA was host to Erick, Snyder, and Regent Prep in one of the eight Regional tournaments across the state. The CBA Lady Crusaders prevailed and won their region, which qualifies them for the State Tournament on October 9-10, at Choctaw High School on Friday, and Shawnee Oklahoma on Saturday.

Carnegie Wildcats Claw Past Blue Devils

Hopes for a perfect Blue Devil football season tumbled Friday night, October 2, 2015, as Carnegie took a 7 to 18 win in the district game. “We just did not play strong offense,” said Cordell Head Coach Dustin Beasley. “I was pleased with our defense. They flew around, gave good effort and took care of business.” Near the end of the first quarter Carnegie scored a touchdown on a toss over the left side and held a 0 - 6 lead at the end of the fist half.

CHS Lady Blue Devil Cross Country Team Racing Toward State

Another Saturday, another win for the Cordell Lady Blue Devil Cross Country team. “We had another strong meet on Saturday, October 3, 2015,” said Cordell Head Coach Jana Rogers. “Our times seem to be improving overall.” With a total of 19 points, Cordell’s team finished in first place at the Hobart Cross Country meet. The Lady Blue Devils claimed seven of the first ten spots, with Berkley Price crossing the finish line first with a time of 12:37.
