Physical would be the best word to describe Cordell’s scrimmage at Elk City, and that suits Cordell head coach Dustin Beasley just fine.  “I’m tickled pink,” Beasley said of his team’s performance. The Junior High football team
took the field first against Elk City, promptly opening things up with a long pass completion

Elementary students will have use of the pool during their athletic hours

Carlie Banks, third grade student at Cordell Elementary, exhibits perfect form as she jumps off the diving board at the Cordell Swimming Pool while Ellie Willard, also in the third grade, looks on. Elementary students will have use of the pool during their athletic hours during the rest of the month of August.

Crooked Creek Lady Golfers Conclude Their Summer League

Crooked Creek lady golfers concluded their summer league play by playing six holes of golf for fun prizes followed by a delicious meal of pulled pork and shaved ham sandwiches, dips and chips, chocolate sheet cake, Mississippi Mud dessert and home made ice cream.

Cordell Fast Pitch Starts Season With Winning Record

Two wins over Carnegie have been the highlight so far for the Cordell Lady Blue Devils fast pitch team, as they have started the season with a record of 2-1. In the season opener Tuesday, August 12, the Blue Devils hosted Carnegie in what was a thrilling, back-and-forth game.

CHS Meet The Players Night Scheduled For August 21

Friday night lights gave way to early - very early - Monday morning lights when Cordell High School football players took the field just seconds after midnight on August 11 for the first practice of the 2014 season. CHS Blue Devil football fans will have a chance to meet the Cordell players at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, for the annual “Meet the Players” night at the Cordell Football Field.

Fast Pitch Season Is Underway

As laughter erupts from the hitting barn at Cordell High School, one thing becomes obvious. The Cordell girl’s fast pitch team really enjoys playing together. “We all get along together, and we laugh a lot,” Senior Cherokee Mitchell said. “We’re always having a good time.”

Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State small-school girls basketball

Cordell graduate Gabbie Parsons participated in the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State small-school girls basketball game Wednesday, July 30. Parsons’ West team defeated the East team 70-56. Cordell girls’ basketball coach Jana Rogers was also honored as Coach of the Year at the event.

Explore Oklahoma: The US Senior Open

In the latest of new experiences for me as I explore Oklahoma was a trip to the U.S. Senior Open at Oak Tree National in Edmond. I arrived around noon Wednesday, July 9, just as the first players were finishing their practice rounds. To get an idea just how good the players were, I camped by the seventeenth green, a par three over water.

Megan Brown competed at Lake Hefner North SCS JR PGA tournament on Thursday, July 10th. She was awarded Runner up, placing 2nd place in her girls division. Megan is 13-years-old and an upcoming 8th grader at Cordell Junior High.

Brown Siblings Compete In Golf Tournaments

Two junior golfers from Cordell participated in the Clinton Riverside Junior South Central Section Tournament last week. Siblings, Heston Brown and Megan Brown each placed 1st in their respective divisions. Over 60 junior golfers played in three boy's divisions and two girl's divisions. Heston shot a 72 on the par 70 course to bring in the win. Megan's round came down to a clutch putt on the last hole to win her division by one stroke.
