Cordell Football Season Ends With 49-7 Loss To Fairview

Cordell’s otherwise successful season ended on a down note Friday, November 14, with a brutal 49-7 playoff loss to Fairview. The loss gives Cordell an 8-3 record at seasons end, the second-best mark of head coach Dustin Beasley’s time in Cordell. Cordell started the game moving the ball successfully on offense, but turnovers were an issue. Both of Cordell’s first two drives ended with interceptions. The second interception gave Fairview the first score of the game as the Yellowjackets returned it for a touchdown.

Playoff Bound Cordell Will Play Fairview In First Round

Though the regular season ended on a down note, with Cordell getting thumped 46-7 at Hollis, the Blue Devils are playoff bound. Cordell will play at Fairview Friday, November 14, in the first round of the state playoffs. This past Friday, November 7, Cordell took on defending state champion Hollis and did not perform up to head coach Dustin Beasley’s standards. “There’s a definite lack of confidence against top-tier teams. We didn’t play to our ability,” Beasley said.
