Cordell Council Approves Removal Of Fees For Tree Limb Disposal

In a meeting that lasted well over three hours the actual voting business before the Cordell City Council took only about ten minutes. In that period of time Cordell EMS Director James Glover confirmed he and his wife, Annie, are moving to Elk City where she has taken a job.

Cordell Carnegie Library Lives On As Washita County Museum

The building I know as the Washita County Museum was originally the Cordell Carnegie Library. Early on, the people of Cordell intended to encourage and maintain quality education by establishing a free public library to serve the entire county. Constructed in 1911, and opened in January of 1912, the building housed a major educational resource.
