The Obama Administration’s decision to house Central American children and teenagers at Fort Sill created a lot of controversy. Their presence led to renewed debate in our communities over how to balance the needs of children from other countries with the needs of U.S. citizens. I do have some sympathy for these immigrants, especially the younger ones. Even so, there is no question that we currently have local needs for U.S. children that often go unaddressed due to the limits of our infrastructure.
