Doyle Thomas Sutton

Doyle Thomas Sutton, 81, long-time Rocky, Oklahoma, resident passed away at his home after a short illness. He was born September 16, 1932, in Fay, Oklahoma, to Willis and Edna (Grizzle) Sutton. Doyle was the grounds caretaker at the golf course in Burns Flat for many years and enjoyed that job most of all. He married Irene Holman on August 9, 1953, in Rocky, and she preceded him in death on November 5, 2005. Doyle served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Church of the First Born in Rocky. Survivors include two sons: Marty Doyle Sutton, LaPort, Indiana; Darrin Glen Sutton and wife Audra, Green River, Wyoming; three daughters: Lori Huntzinger and husband Larry, Rocky; Bonnie Giblet and husband Jeff, Rocky; and Pollyanna Byrd and husband Nick, Rocky; 25 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Weldon Dobbs, Rocky; one sister, Beulah Dromgoole, Elk City, Oklahoma; two brothers: Arlo Sutton and wife Gerre, Loveland, Colorado; Larry Sutton, Weatherford, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Roberta Sutton, Fay; Jeannine Easton, Wyoming and Carrie Sutton, Cordell, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Irene, daughter Claudia Carol Dobbs, granddaughter Kama Holman, grandson Joel Huntzinger, great-grandson Hunter Dobbs, sister Letha Burghardt and brother Keith Sutton. Funeral services were Monday, August 11, 2014, at Church of the First Born, Rocky, with Rex Byrd and Jeff Schmidt officiating. Burial followed in the Lone Star Cemetery under the direction of Ray and Martha's Funeral Home, Hobart, Oklahoma.
