Edna Reimer, 97, was born on December 21, 1916, in Fairview, Oklahoma, to William and Amelia (Karber) Bartel and passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014, in Yukon, Oklahoma. She was raised in the Texas Panhandle. Edna married David Reimer on February 17, 1935, in Bessie, Oklahoma, at The Bessie MB Church. Edna and David raised their children East of Cordell and South of Black Post road. Edna was a homemaker; she enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing. She had a reputation for being a fine seamstress and made wedding gowns for many young ladies. Edna entered many items throughout the years at the county fair, which she received many blue ribbons. Edna Reimer Edna was an Awanas Club leader. She enjoyed visiting and being with family and friends. She also worked with the Election Board as an Election Judge. Edna enjoyed entertaining friends and visiting speakers of the church in her home. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband David in 1997, one son-in-law John McCormick in 2011, seven sisters and one brother. Survivors include three daughters; June Klaassen and husband Denver of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Joyce Vogt and husband Ed of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, and Betty McCormick of Colorado Springs, Colorado, one son; Wayne Reimer of San Francisco, California; nine grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and a host of dear nieces and nephews, family and friends. Graveside services for Edna Reimer were held Friday, August 1, 2014, at the Bible MB Cemetery, Bessie, Oklahoma, with Kevin Creed officiating. Services were under the direction of Musick-Varner Funeral Home, Cordell, Oklahoma.
