Charles O. "Chuck" Henderson, 73, of Hobart, passed away at his home on Saturday, July 12, 2014, after a short illness. He was born April 19, 1941, in Duncan, Oklahoma, to Jack and Nellie (Foster) Henderson. He grew up east of Marlow, Oklahoma, and graduated Doyle High School. The next day he was off to San Diego and served with the U.S. Navy from 1959 - 1968 and served in Vietnam from 1967-1968. Chuck then worked five years at Jiggs in Cordell. He joined the Coast Guard in 1973, and retired September 1, 1984, as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. He married Audie Ruth Young on February 23, 1963, in Washington, D.C. They lived in Cordell many years before moving to Hobart three years ago. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and DAV. Survivors include his wife, Ruth of the home, two daughters: Lori Jones and husband Robert of Cabot, Arkansas, Lisa Gaddy and husband David of Conway, Arkansas, one son, Jason Henderson and wife Michelle of Weatherford, Oklahoma, eight grandchildren: Brandon Gaddy, Bryson Jones, Holden Jones, Jackson Jones, Trevor Gaddy, Logan Jones, Hannah Jones and Alina Henderson, one brother: Jack Henderson and wife Annelle of Hobart, Oklahoma, two sisters: Doris Gatlin and husband, James of Mobeeti, Texas, and Ida Miles of Hobart, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, T. R. and Howard and a son-in-law, Thomas Pederson. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Ray and Martha's Funeral Chapel, Hobart, Oklahoma.Officiating: was Aubrey Ritter, his brother-in-law, eulogy: was given by Jason Henderson, his son. Burial followed in the Hobart Rose Cemetery under the direction of Ray and Martha's Funeral Home, Hobart, Oklahoma.
