Independence Day: A special holiday I rarely got to experience as a teenager thanks to football camp. Generally, people spend the day celebrating the beginning of the United States’ independence, perhaps not paying as much heed to the political and literary consequences of the event. Even though that independence is a cause worthy of celebration, I would like to take a moment to point out the beauty and power of the document that made it possible.
