Veda Belle Evans, 87, resident of Dill City, Oklahoma, was born on January 27, 1927, in Sentinel, Oklahoma, to Forest and Waldean (Smith) Lohden, and passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2014, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Veda Belle was born in Sentinel and attended school in Port, Burns Flat and Dill City. She married Harold Evans on October 19, 1946, in Wheeler, Texas. Veda Belle and Harold raised their daughter in the Dill City area, where they lived for many years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed farming with her husband. She obtained her Real Estate license in the mid 1990’s, and managed rentals for several years. Veda Belle was a member of the Eastern Star. She was also an avid reader. She was preceded in death by her parents, Forest and Waldean Lohden, her husband, Harold Evans in 1989 and one sister. Survivors include one daughter: Ginger Evan and husband, Doug Pattison of Aurora, Illinois; and two grandchildren: Taylor Pattison of Boyton Beach, Florida and Connor Pattison of Aurora, Illinois. Funeral services were held for Veda Belle Evans at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 6, 2014, at the United Methodist Church, Cordell, Oklahoma, with Rev. Amanda Lockwood, officiating. Burial was in the South Burns Cemetery, Dill City, Oklahoma, under the direction of Musick-Varner Funeral Home, Cordell, Oklahoma.
