Bonnie Duke, 81, resident of Dill City, Oklahoma, was born on January 29, 1933, in Lake Valley, Oklahoma, to Thomas Calvin and Lillie Ellen (Adams) Guffee and passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, in Dill City, Oklahoma. Bonnie was raised in rural Washita County. She attended Lake Valley schools. Bonnie had lived in Cordell and Dill City all of her life. Bonnie married Melvin Duke on July 13, 1950. She enjoyed life on the farm and being around her livestock. Bonnie enjoyed reading her Bible, playing dominos and going fishing. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and her friends. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Calvin and Lillie Ellen Guffee, two sisters, one brother, one son-in-law, Bobby Hines, one sister-in-law, Arva Guffee and her step mother, Inez Guffee. Survivors include two daughters: Kathie Hines of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, and Wanda Cooper and husband, Gayle, of Sentinel, Oklahoma; two sisters: Mary Bentley of Ft. Cobb, Oklahoma, and Sharon Grim of Clinton, Oklahoma; six brothers: Carl Guffee of Clinton, Oklahoma, Donnie Guffee of Caldwell, Texas, Tommy Guffee of El Reno, Oklahoma, Willard James Guffee of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Bobby Guffee of Ft. Cobb, Oklahoma, and Larry Guffee of Chickasha, Oklahoma; special niece: Alice Peet of Hobart, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, 19 great- grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of dear nieces and nephews. Funeral services wereheld for Bonnie Friday, May 23, 2014, at the New Beginnings Church, Cordell, Oklahoma, with Pastor Mike Southerland officiating and Buck Nicholson assisting. Burial followed in the Elm Flat Cemetery, Cordell, Oklahoma, under the direction of Musick-Varner Funeral Home, Cordell, Oklahoma.
