Mrs. Jane Thurman Lee passed away after an extended illness at the age of 61, on March 29, 2014. She was at home surrounded by loved ones. Jane was born on October 9, 1952, in Lewis County, Kentucky, where she grew up and resided until 1980. Jane married James (Jim) Lee on July 4, 1970. The family moved to Sentinel in 1980. She spent much of her life giving and taking care of others. Jane was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed being outdoors in her garden. Her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Jim Lee of the home; son, James and wife, Anita, of Hobart, Oklahoma; daughter, Amy Armstrong and husband, Otha, of Guymon, Oklahoma, and daughter, Susan Lee of Sentinel, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, James Lee III, Andrew Lee, Zackary Lee, Otha Armstrong IV, Olivia Armstrong, Olesha Armstrong and Cora Jane Riley; 13 brothers and sisters, Connie Tackett and Hope Pruitt of Garrison, Kentucky, Pat Stone Vickie Stone and Angie Johnson of Vanceburg, Kentucky, Jackie Mahaney of Michigan, Virgil (Junior) Thurman of Vanceburg, Kentucky, Larry Thurman of Garrison, Kentucky; Gary Thurman, Dennis Thurman, George Thurman, Richard Thurman, all of Vanceburg, Kentucky, and Keith Thurman, of Pipeville, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carmel Ruth Thurman, a nephew, Andy Thurman and a niece, Lena Thurman. Funeral services will be held for Jane Thurman Lee at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at the Musick-Varner Chapel, Sentinel, Oklahoma, with Otha Armstrong, III, and Colby Evetts, officiating. Burial will follow in the Sentinel Cemetery, Sentinel, Oklahoma, under the direction of Musick-Varner Funeral Home, Sentinel, Oklahoma.
