Edward E. Carter was born to Milton Carter and Pauline (Henson) Carter in Elk City, Oklahoma, on January 27, 1943, and departed this life in Carter, Oklahoma, on March 21, 2014, at the age of 71 years, one month, and 24 days. Ed grew up in Carter, where he graduated high school. He graduated from Oklahoma State University, where he received his Masters in Agriculture. On May 27, 1967, he married the love of his life, Kathy Terrell Teeter, at Highland Methodist Church in Oney, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Carter School Board, Beckham County Water Board, and the Southwest State Bank Board. He worked as a banker at Southwest State Bank in Sentinel, Oklahoma, and also as a farmer. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Kathy Carter of the home; a son, Ed Carter, Jr. and wife, Beth of Carter, Oklahoma; a daughter, Christie and Greg Mouse of Elk City, Oklahoma; a sister, Nelda Lowrance of Talahoma, Tennesse; four grandchildren, Taylor Mouse, Brock Carter, Garrett, and Bailey Carter; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Sentinel High School Auditorium, Sentinel, Oklahoma, on Tuesday March 25, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. with Heath Tucker officiating. Burial was at the Carter Cemetery, Carter, Oklahoma, under the direction of People’s Cooperative Funeral Home, Lone Wolf, Oklahoma.
