Last week the 2014 Legislative Session began, and it looks to be a very important session for the state of Oklahoma. Actually, all sessions of the legislature are important; I believe that this session will be especially crucial for public education within our state. It is my opinion that public education has come under attack during the past few years. The combination of decreased funding along with increased unfunded mandates has lead me to this opinion. This opinion has also been developed as a result of the continued negative attitude towards teachers and public education from some of our state leaders.
