Washita County Ranks Fifth In Wheat Production

Despite dry conditions, Washita County ranked fifth in wheat production among Oklahoma counties according to the 2013 Oklahoma Agricultural Statistics. Total production was 8.4 million bushels of wheat in 2012, a 477 percent increase from the previous year’s yield of 1.76 million. Counties to exceed Washita County’s output were: Kiowa, Alfalfa, Grant and Garfield.
