Virginia Ann Randolph

Funeral services for Virginia Ann Randolph, 80, were held Friday afternoon, January 17, 2014, at 4:00 p.m. at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church with Reverends Ernest Maddon and Steve Bilsbury officiating. Burial will be on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. in Strickland Cemetery in Cordell, Oklahoma. The daughter of the late Lewis C. and Virginia Irene Green Ledbetter, Ann was born November 6, 1933, at Cordell and passed away January 13, 2014, in Ardmore. Ann graduated from McAlester High School in 1951 and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University in 1953. She and John E. Randolph were married August 26, 1955 at McAlester.
The family moved to Ardmore in 1977, where Ann began working as a secretary for Red River Insurance. She later went to work for the Carter County Extension office where she retired from after 20 years of service. She was a member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church and was on the Alter Guild for 30 years. She loved her rescue dogs, hummingbirds and was an avid reader. Ann is survived by her husband John of the home, daughter Barbara Hitt and husband Jack of Crestwood, Kentucky, three sons, John of Tacoma, Washington; Lewis and wife Kristina of Denton, Texas and Jeffrey and wife Annie of Arlington, Texas; eleven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
