Football is the most popular  sport in the United States, nearly universally beloved. But though fans still love the sport, their patience is growing thin with the NFL, a league that continues to lose touch with its fans. Put aside the quality of the play on the field, which is being affected by a variety of new rules that lessens the quality of hitting and defense in general. I’m talking about business decisions that make clear that the fans are only as good as their money.
