Johnny Sells

Johnny Sells, 59, resident of Rocky, Oklahoma, was born on June 25, 1954, in Fairbanks, Alaska, to Kenneth and Nadine (Harmon) Sells, and passed away, December 11, 2013, in Wheeler, Texas. Johnny was born in Fairbanks, Alaska. He was raised in Carnegie, Hobart and Clinton, where he graduated from Clinton High School. He attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. Johnny joined the National Guard in 1975, serving three years. He married Brenda Britton on March 16, 1981, in Wheeler, Texas. Johnny and Brenda raised their family in Sentinel and Rocky. Johnny had worked in the oilfield industry across Texas, Oklahoma and Columbia, for over 35 years. He was currently working for Linn Energy in the Texas Panhandle, as a drilling consultant. Johnny enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed watching westerns, especially 
Rifleman, John Wayne and Gunsmoke. Johnny loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and his friends. Johnny was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ruben and Alice Sells, and his daughter, Krystal in 2003. Survivors include his wife: Brenda Sells of the home; his parents: Kenneth and Nadine Sells of Carnegie, Oklahoma;  one daughter: Amy Wilhelmand husband, Brandon, of Bentonville, Arkansas; one son: Shane Sells and Jennifer of Clinton, Oklahoma; one brother: Mike Sells and JoAnn of Ft. Cobb, Oklahoma; and seven grandchildren. Funeral Services were held  for Johnny Sells at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December  14, 2013, at the First Baptist Church, Sentinel, Oklahoma, with Rev. Dustin Sells, officiating. Burial followed in the Sentinel Cemetery, Sentinel, Oklahoma, under the direction of Musick-Varner Funeral Home, Sentinel, Oklahoma
